LETTER from the DIRECTOR
The SoEDBE HDR community is currently experiencing a rapid growth phase, with over 250 students, most of whom have been awarded scholarships.
In addition, the community has become multicultural, multidisciplinary and internationalised in which students have been offered cutting-edged research topics under guidance of a multidisciplinary supervisory teams. Guided by exceptional academic supervisors some of whom have been listed under the World’s top 1% researchers, our HDR students actively contribute to world-leading research that aligns with WSU’s No. 1 global ranking in driving impact through the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). To further strengthen and maintain research quality, new policies have constantly been considered and added.
To motivate and support students for high-quality research while also prioritising their well-being, various workshops, events, and monthly research seminars have been organised to recognize students of their research excellence. Peer networking has been an integral part of this exercise to build a digital showcase platform. Our HDR students are prepared to become future leaders and ambassadors of WSU’s values to the global community.
With respect for Aboriginal cultural protocol and out of recognition that its campuses occupy their traditional lands, Western Sydney University acknowledges the Darug, Eora, Dharawal (also referred to as Tharawal) and Wiradjuri peoples and thanks them for their support of its work in their lands in Greater Western Sydney and beyond.
